The GRATEFUL DEAD "Live On Stage" June 5, 1970, at the Fillmore West, San Francisco, California, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
I think these guys were still losing money for Warner Brothers in 1970...
Performing before the hometown crowd the DEAD kick it in gear and prove they have what it takes to rule the underground.
Here they are, the scariest band in 1970...
I highly recommend adding this show to your 1970 GRATEFUL DEAD collection.
The "Original" GRATEFUL DEAD.
If you weren't alive in 1970 you can't imagine it. California had the best schools in the country in 1970...now they have the worst...ah, progress.
I recommend using your EQ during playback of most of the shows on the IA, this one included.
Windows Media Player has a 10 band EQ and SRS WOW effects that enhance the sound.
Here's one way to stream/dowload this show:
The IA recommends users of Windows XP view this web-page with RealPlayer.
Using RealPlayer to view this webpage, click the VBR M3U link to open the songs in the Playlist.
If your Playlist is not open, open it by clicking the Playlist icon at the lower right hand corner of RealPlayer.
Once the songs are in the Playlist, double click the song to play it, then click the record button at the lower left hand corner of Realplayer to record it.
When the red line reaches the other end click the stop button to download the song.
Your song is in the RealPlayer Downloads folder. Repeat these steps for each song.
you could just hook up your audio cables from your computer to your cassette, VHS, CD, DVD or whatever "recorder" and record it in real time...OMG.
Eat, Drink, Be Merry and Listen to the GRATEFUL DEAD for tomorrow we may die.
Thanks for the LOVE from 1970.
PS: Remember to click on the "DeadLists Project" link and get the Poster for this show.
PSS: Get June 4,5,6, & 7, 1970 at the Fillmore West...all are on the archive.
PSSS: if you want to rate my review feel free to use the Forum to vent your hate, opinion, and rants...I won't read em anyway...

Im in total agreement w. burnt rich--nicely put man! And, audiopatches smoauidiopatches, I am grateful to hear any of this steamy poop. One thing that some have not reviewed is the INfrieckenCREDIBLE Black Peter. Maybe its a touchy subject for some (it used to be 4 me), but listen. Do yourself a favor; turn out the lights and listen to Black Peter at a decent level and hear Jerrys voice come right through the speakers and give "your little ears" a sweet kiss from the great past.

Get yo' hands outta yo'pocket and take a listen!!
I love the ARCHIVE!! This show F*&%!! SMOKES!! Put your ears in "zen" mode and enjoy. Yeah, there is some funk w. the aud patches, etc. --BUT, this is still a wonderful historical document of artistic expression that should be allowed to stand as such...Ankle Biters--go buy your cd..real enthusiasts...sit back and ENJOY!!!! The last 2 reviews on Rider are spot on. This really is a GREAT, stand-out version. New Speedway has an evil cut in it, but it is a good snakey one still! Good versions of a lot of great tunes. If you got the time, this is a fun show all the way through. it really picks up steam and the audio quality is great for the latter part of this show. Back to Back PIGPEN cannot be touched!!! Hard to Handle has some fun blown lyrics and Man's World just totally snake charmed me--classic Dead--I got lost in the jam and did not even know WHAT or WHERE I was in the music. Just lovely!! I love it when that happened live and I sure loved feeling that state of sensory nirvana on this one..Thanks! 4 and 1/2 stars if I could--the audio difficulties do knock it down a smidgeon.

I'd rather drink muddy water...
This is probably the best acoustic Rider out there. Worth the d/l for this alone. Very very nice FOTD. My rating is for the acoustic set only. Points off for aud patches.
